I am a Professor of Public Economics at TU Dresden and director of the Dresden branch of the ifo Institute for Economic Research. My research areas are public economics, demographic change, political economy, the economics of climate change, and development economics. In 2007, I was appointed a lifetime member of the Scientific Advisory Council at the Federal Ministry of Finance.
